About

Taylor University’s
Lighthouse International Service-Learning Program
Covenant member of the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Mission initiative.

Since 1972, Taylor’s Lighthouse program has enabled students to gain unforgettable, life-changing experiences during the January Interterm studying and serving cross-culturally around the world. The groups seek to share the redemptive love and truth of Christ with a world in need. Teams are recruited in the spring, prepare in the fall and serve in January. Lighthouse is an exciting way to engage another culture while making a difference.

Lighthouse groups take a fall course (one credit hour) in cross-cultural ministry and team building to prepare for the field experience. In January, students earn three upper level cross-cultural credits while they engage in service projects, compassionate ministries, community development, teaching English, performing arts, leadership development, evangelism, discipleship and other ministries under the direction of faculty sponsors and international hosts.
