2016 Ethiopia Team Pic

Greetings from Ethiopia Lighthouse team of 2016! We are excited that you are interested in learning more about the trip we are taking in January. This year our team will consist of sixteen students and two faculty team leaders. We are very happy and excited to continue our partnership with Project Mercy (, a permanent local ministry. While there we will work alongside Project Mercy serving local at their local school impoverished children ages K-12. We will be in Yetebon Ethiopia, a formerly severely underprivileged area in Ethiopia. Since the arrival of Project Mercy in 1993 the community has grown and improved in education, healthcare, economic infrastructure, agriculture, and spiritually.

We ask and thank you for your prayers as we embark on this journey. We have chosen a passage of scripture for our team,“Declare His glory among the nations, His wonderful works among all peoples.”1 Chronicles 16:24

  1. I’m so excited for Ethiopia 2015 as it is getting closer and closer to your departure date. I’m joining countless others who are praying for your preparation, travel, and team as a whole. I wonder how many of you were born in 1993, the year Project Mercy began? It’s neat to think that 21 years later God has prepared each of you for this time of service. He will supply all your needs.
    In Hope,
    Wendy Brunson

January 5, 2007 I entered Ethiopia with the Taylor LH team. I was invited as the first Board of Trustees member to visit Yetebon. God blessed the team as they interacted with students and staff. There were multiple “God Sightings” during the month. I am praying that each of you will experience a closeness to God as your serve him in Yetebon.
